Rain or Shine

Hey, great week full of a couple of burning hot days as well as a few downpours!  I don't know in which circumstance I get more wet! Great stuff!

Highlights of the week probably include last p day being able to hang out with my trainer elder pearce and meet his family that came to pick him up from his mission! We became really good friends, and I'm sad I won't see him again until we're at byu together next year :(

Also a little blurb of information you might enjoy: Elder Cole and I teach the intermediate English class, and literally no one has ever been better at it. We literally set the record for most people in attendance ever at an English class. hahah the people love it, and its always a pretty good bright spot in the week.

Bummer of the week: David Archuleta came to do a concert in Taichung, and for those of you who don't know, I'm obsessed with David Archuleta! So anyways how it works is we are in the main chapel right next to the mission home, but aren't in the same zone as the rest of the missionaries there. The whole Taichung south zone got to go and participate, but even though we are literally closer than half of the people that went to the concert, we weren't allowed to go, because it wouldn't be "fair". So close, but so far...

Another super great thing was Friday we had the trainer follow up meeting in Jiayi, a place an hour and a half away from Taichung. Since we live near the mission home we got to drive down with President and Sister Teh. Can I just say how awesome he is? I for sure miss our old mission president super super bad, but President Teh is really great. He is just always so nice and you just feel so good every time you see him. What I've noticed particularly is how he always seems to care so much about every missionary, and always just gives you the biggest hug every time her sees you.

Spiritual though comes from this quote from Good old Elder Scott. (I have been listening to about a million general conference talks the past few weeks). Prayer is the most incredible thing, and when we take it seriously, some really special things start to happen.

Prayer is supernal gift of our Father in Heaven to every soul. Think of it: the absolute Supreme Being, the most all-knowing, all-seeing, all-powerful personage,encourages you and me, as insignificant as we are, to converse with Him as our Father. Imatters not our circumstance, be we humble or arrogant, poor or rich, free or enslaved, learned or ignorant, loved or forsaken, we can address Him. We need no appointment. Our supplication can be brief or can occupy all the time needed. It can be an extended expression of love and gratitude or an urgent plea for help.He has created numberless cosmos and populated them with worlds, yet you and can talk with Him personally, and He will ever answer.

Love you guys so so much :)

-Elder Gilbert
